Press Release
18.1.15 – Internationally Renowned Australian Street Artist Bethany Smith to Create Live Art Installation at Ashford Triumph Showroom.
Triumph dealership Jack Lilley Ltd are excited to announce that renowned international street artist Bethany Smith will be at their Ashford showroom on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th Januaryto create a unique piece of wall art.
It's an opportunity that came about through a chance meeting between Bethany and Zoe Cano, author of 'Bonneville - Go or Bust'. Zoe, a customer of Jack Lilley Ltd, fulfilled her dream of riding across the USA on a Triumph Bonneville in the summer of 2012, using what she describes as 'the roads less travelled'. Her inspiring story is told in her book which has received rave reviews ever since launching last summer.
Zoe's story inspired Bethany to design a piece of art that captures the nature of freedom and individuality which motorcycles represent.
Bethany has been in the UK working on various London-based projects and is due to return home to Australia at the end of the month. A spokesman from Jack Lilley Ltd said "With just a few days remaining in the UK, we're very lucky that Bethany has agreed to turn her vision into a unique piece of wall art which can be enjoyed by all visitors to our Ashford showroom. We're inviting everyone to come along to watch the work in progress – we're calling it a 'pop up live art' event."
Visitors are invited to pop in to the Ashford showroom on either day and enjoy the experience of seeing this unique piece of art take shape. Zoe Cano will also be there on Saturday 24th to sign copies of her book.

About Jack Lilley Triumph
Jack Lilley Ltd is a family run business originally established in 1959. For many years, their showroom was based in Shepperton High Street where it became a popular meeting place for motorcycle enthusiasts for miles around. In 1991, Jack Lilley became one of the first appointed dealers for the revamped Triumph brand and are now regarded as one of the foremost Triumph dealerships in the UK. In 1997 the company moved from Shepperton to larger premises in Ashford and have since opened a second branch in Romford, Essex.

About Zoe Cano
Zoë Cano, had a dream to travel across North America on a Triumph Bonneville using the lesser-known roads to make her trip across the continent. She made that vision a reality and in the summer of 2012 (one of the hottest and driest on record) made the epic journey across the USA.
Her fascinating story is brought to life in her book "Bonneville Go or Bust – On the Roads Less Travelled”. Published by Road Dog Publications USA, the book tells an inspiring, motivating and exciting story that will appeal as much to non-bikers as it will to the rest of us.
As a valued customer, Zoe had support and advice from Jack Lilley Triumph for her 3 month journey and we are delighted to announce she will be joining us on 24th January in our Ashford showroom to sign copies of her book.
More information about Zoe's trip across America can be found on her blogpage:http://bonnevilleadventure.blogspot.com/

About Bethany Smith
Bethany Smith is an Australian street artist and poet residing in Copenhagen, who travels through Europe organising live street art events. She runs a non-profit organisation called ‘Saythanks’ which utilises the work of creatives to do good things in the community and is sponsored by 2learn.com.au to use her talents to help disadvantaged people in major cities around the world.
As founder of a new art movement called TuneArt in 2013, Bethany has de-institutionalised the use of gallery spaces and instead brought the exhibitions to live music venues, where artists can utilise these events as a free platform to promote & sell their artwork.
Bethany has successfully run TuneArt events in Sydney, London and the Netherlands and she has been commissioned to create live art at London’s popular Half Baked Festivals and venues such as Bar 90 in Hackney and the Dogstar Pub in Brixton.
Bethany creates street art that can inspire or generate a social consciousness. Therefore, Zoe Cano’s story became her inspiration for a huge wall to be painted in the showroom at Jack Lilley Ltd, Triumph dealership in Ashford, Middlesex.
